Judgement at the Door

Faith/Encouragement 6 122

God the creator of Heaven and earth, made humanity for his purpose, creating man to inhabit the earth; to multiply, subdue and replenish it and to have dominion over created creatures. Man was to have rule under God, not jettison and isolate the creator from his creation. Man was to rule as God’s ambassador of God’s Heaven on earth. This is reflected in the Lord’s Prayer.  ‘. …Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven’. It was about establishing God’s principles and way of doing things, which is establishing his kingdom, on earth.

Unfortunately, man took a turn in the garden of Eden to choose self-will in place of God’s will. This decision brought in satanic rule because man chose another god instead of his creator. This rebellion at Eden led to a race of people the Bible recorded as wicked with only evil intentions (Genesis 6:5) and God regretted that he had made man. The judgement of this terrible unfaithful emissaries was judgement by flood and non escaped except Noah and his family. God had stated that Noah was different, he was just, perfect and walked with God. After the devastating flood, the earth was again populated, and man’s rebellion against his creator continued in spite of different messengers over the centuries and even his own son Jesus who died for the sins of the world to reconcile men to God, but humanity continues to insist: ‘We will not have this man rule over us! Luke 19:12-27). All manner of evil abounds so much that there is even a revival of ancient abandoned satanic worship and devilish customs in various localities and private lives. The shedding of  blood for money and power in many lands including our own has nulled the sensitivities of even the delicate at heart! But the time is up!

‘God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:…….Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hpath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him’.

This audacious declaration of the Apostle Paul highlights the certainty of God’s judgement. God commands all men to repent. From the careless offering of Cain of the fruit of the ground or from human effort resulting in the murder of his brother Abel because God approved his offering of a live sheep in acknowledgement that his own works were insufficient, to the Tower of Babel were men came together to reach onto the heavenly things by their own methods with God confounding their language; all through the Bible days to our present day, man has rejected God and chosen self rule. The entire pursuit of man is to pursue his agenda to enthrone self and provide for himself a utopia on earth. To this end, man has advanced the fields of science, technology, medicine, education, and even spiritism and psychology. All have been a striving to provide the answer to his needs without leaning on his creator. But have these advances in science resulted in joy or peace? Have they given man rest from his labours?

Have they broken the yoke of sin and death, the toil and the labour, disease and poverty? Have the advances in medicine and technology brought health, have they broken the power of death? Furthermore, in order to provide law, order and co-operation, the nations of the world came together to form the United Nations with the Security Council to keep the peace. Have the United nations maintained peace in the world? Have the Security council policed the world into submission for peace or do we see nations poised yet again for nuclear war of wars to end the corrupt earth in scorching flames?

The Apostle Peter spoke of this when he wrote,’Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men (2 Peter 3:6-7).

Make no mistake about it, God will judge the deeds of every man whoever you may be; whether they are good or bad in relation to how his son is reverenced. If so be that judgement is at the door and certain to be, what sort of life ought we to live? If the wickedness of man reached a full scale and God judged the former world with a flood, He will definitely judge our own world with his prescribed method which in this case is fire even as the iniquity has reached its height.

For ‘the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness’ 2 Peter 3:10-13.

My dear friends, let us put our house in order.
